"The National Organization for Women is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been "to take action" to bring about equality for all women.  NOW's media activism work includes analyzing the portrayal and images of women and girls in the media, monitoring news coverage of women's rights issues, promoting women's roles behind the scenes in the media industry and advocating for media democracy that serves the public interest."
